Protecting the world's oceans
Since 2014, we’ve supported our global charity, the SEA LIFE Trust.
In that time, we have helped the SEA LIFE Trust to provide vital practical care for marine animals through
their sanctuaries, to fund conservation projects and deliver campaigns that make a positive difference to
marine habitat and wildlife across the world.
Since 2014, we’ve supported the Trust to help:
- new marine protected areas created
- reduce marine litter
- protect sea turtles
- rescue, rehabilitate and release hundreds of sick and injured seal pups
- create the world’s first beluga whale sanctuary in Iceland
We’ve already achieved a lot together and have plans to do even more in the future!
The SEA LIFE Trust currently has two marine animal sanctuaries;
our world-first Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland and our Cornish Seal Sanctuary in the UK.

Little Grey and Little White
Creating the world’s first beluga whale sanctuary
The SEA LIFE TRUST Beluga Whale Sanctuary, just off the south coast of Iceland, is the first of its kind in the world!
The Sanctuary provides a new, more natural home in a sanctuary in the sea for previously captive beluga whales. The Sanctuary's first two residents are called
Little White and Little Grey - they made an epic journey of 6,000 miles all the way from doing shows in a water park in China to their new natural home in a bay in Iceland!
In the sea sanctuary bay, our resident belugas get to dive and explore their new home, experience natural flora and fauna and the sun and rain on their backs,
which they won't have experienced since they were caught from the wild when very young.
We hope our sanctuary will encourage the rehabilitation of other captive whales into more natural environments in the future.

Cornish Seal Sanctuary
Rescuing & caring for baby seals
Every year our Cornish Seal Sanctuary rescues and cares for sick and injured seal pups in need of help.
Seal pups can require help for lots of different reasons including getting injured in storms, becoming separated from their mother, or getting entangled in ocean litter.
At the Sanctuary’s on-site seal hospital, the pups receive expert care from our experienced team so that, once they have regained full health,
they can be released back to their home in the sea.
The Sanctuary also provides a long-term home and ongoing care for our resident animals which cannot be released back to the wild.
