SEA LIFETM is designed to be a child’s first interactive guide to the life of the sea, combining active, hands-on learning with fascinating educational talks, and opportunities to have up close and personal encounters with a variety of sea creatures. A visit to SEA LIFE is an educational experience like no other!
Educational Field Trip Programs

Bring your class to SEA LIFE for an immersive experience. Journey from the High Sierras and the San Francisco Bay, to ocean tunnels and touch pools where you can explore the living creatures that live in them. Discover the habitats and haunts of sharks, rays, seahorses and more! A trip to SEA LIFE includes:
- Feedings – Learn about our animals and what they like to eat.
- Quiz Trail – Test your knowledge about shark skin, global warming and more.
- Touch Pools – Meet the creatures up close and personal!

SHARKS REVEALED
Grades K – 5
Enormous teeth, steely eyes, or possibly some theme music? Is that what comes to minds when you hear the word “shark”? Sharks are some of the most mysterious and misunderstood creatures of the ocean. Take a closer look at these mysterious animals during this program.
UNDERWATER PARKS
Grades pre-K – 5
Just as we enjoy our parks, undersea creatures need a safe and clean place to live and play! Explore the local parks of the California coast and see how an extreme makeover with the help from us can invite numerous animals to these homes.
JUNIOR AQUARIST
Grades 3 – 6
Do you have what it takes to be a Junior Aquarist? Test your skills and find out what it’s like to be a staff member at SEA LIFE Aquarium. From feeding to making sure the water is “just right”, we guarantee tons of wet fun on this adventure!

Teachers pay same low rate as students. 1 adult: 3 student ratio. (Minimum 15 paying students.) Membership passes accepted for self-guided field trip admission only. Hopper visits must be made within pricing season.
FRESH LUNCHES:
SEA LIFE Lunches - $3.00. Choice of grilled cheese or peanut butter & jelly sandwich; with raisins and a juice box.
LEGOLAND Lunches - $6.50. Choice of chicken nuggets, hot dog, or peanut butter & jelly sandwich; with fruit, chips and drink.
Schools may bring lunches in disposable containers only. No coolers allowed. No personal belongings will be stored. Designated picnic areas are available at LEGOLAND California only.
AVAILABILTY:
Field trips offered year round, weekdays during days of operation.
Only self-guided programs available July-August.
No field trips available Dec. 21-Jan. 3.
PARKING:
Bus parking is free. Car parking is $12 per vehicle. Free car parking vouchers are available if requested at time of reservation at a 1 adult: 3 student ratio. Vouchers will be mailed after payment is received. No additional or replacement parking vouchers will be issued. Cars take the Cannon Road exit and follow the signs to LEGOLAND. Buses exit Palomar Airport Road and drive east to Hidden Valley Road/The Crossings Drive. Drive north on The Crossings Drive. Turn left into bus parking.

Payment by check, credit card or original purchase order is required 3 weeks in advance. Restrictions may apply.
HOME SCHOOL DAYS
Discounted admission rates are available for Home School families on each of the following Mondays during the 2009-20010 school year:
- September 7 - December 7, 2009 (each Monday)
- January 4 - March 15, 2010 (each Monday)
- May 3, 10 and 17, 2010 (Mondays)
Parking is not included. Advanced registration is required 2 weeks in advance. No special offer tickets available at front gate.
SELF-GUIDED INSTRUCTION
Each Monday, beginning September 7, 2009 (see above schedule)
Self Guided Home School Days at SEA LIFE include a resource guide for self-guided instruction and full day admission (limit 6 admissions).
INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS
First Monday Monthly at 10:30am beginning October 5th, 2009
- Led by SEA LIFE educational staff
- Bring your Home School ticket to the Southern California Tide Pools inside SEA LIFE Aquarium to sign-up. First come, first serve, until full at 30 children per class.

Group Adventures
Youth Day Camp and Scout Patch Programs
Explore live creatures of the deep, from California shores to the Lost City of Atlantis. Special programs and pricing are available for youth and scout groups of 15 or more with chaperones, when purchased in advance. Reserve a themed adventure, or dive in and explore on your own – be sure to check the daily creature feeding and talk schedule when you arrive.
Booking your Adventure is easy as 1-2-3:
- Gather a youth group of 10 or more with at least one chaperone.
- Choose your adventure or choose to explore on your own.
